What to do before calling anyone
If water is actively entering, shut off the supply at the valve or at the main. If a ceiling is sagging or bulging, keep people out from underneath it, because a water loaded ceiling can come down suddenly and gypsum is heavy.
If there is any chance of water contacting electrical circuits, turn off the affected circuits at the panel.
Who you actually need first
Being direct about this saves time and money. For active flooding or standing water, you need a water extraction and drying company before you need us, because installing new board into a wet cavity guarantees doing the work twice.
For significant mold growth, you need a licensed remediation contractor first. We will tell you if what we find is beyond a small surface area rather than closing a wall over it.
Once the source is fixed and the cavity is genuinely dry, that is when we come in.
How we prioritise urgent work
Call (949) 446-1300 and say it is urgent. Water damage and safety related situations get moved to the front of the schedule.
What we will not do is promise a same day start we cannot hold. If we cannot get to you quickly enough, we will say so on the phone rather than letting you wait.
Documentation for insurance
If you are likely to claim, photograph everything before anything is removed, including wide shots showing the location and close ups showing the extent.
We provide written scopes and photographic documentation of the damage and the work carried out, which is typically what adjusters ask for.
