Drywall Framing
Wood Stud Framing
Wood stud framing uses dimensional lumber to build interior walls. It remains standard in residential construction because it carries structural load, accepts fasteners directly, and integrates with existing wood framed structures.

About Wood Stud Framing
Wood remains the right answer in residential work for a simple reason: it holds fasteners. A cabinet, a handrail, or a heavy mirror can go directly into a wood stud without special hardware. It also matches what is already in the house, which matters when you are tying new walls into old ones.
The tradeoff is movement. Lumber shrinks as it dries, and that shrinkage is what produces nail pops in the first year or two. We use kiln dried material, orient crowns consistently, and fasten with screws rather than nails where it matters, which reduces the problem considerably.

Why this matters
- Accepts fasteners directly, no special hardware for most mounts
- Ties cleanly into existing wood framed structures
- Kiln dried material and consistent crown orientation to limit movement
- Carries structural load where the design requires it
