Insulation Installation
Batt Insulation Installation
Batt insulation is pre cut fiberglass or mineral wool installed between framing members in open cavities. It is the most common insulation type in new construction and remodels because it is cost effective, but it is also the easiest to install badly.

About Batt Insulation
Batts are simple, which is exactly why they are so often installed poorly. A batt stuffed into a cavity and compressed behind a wire, or cut short at the top, or left with a gap at the stud, looks finished from a distance and performs far below its rating.
Doing it properly means friction fitting the batt to full contact on all six sides of the cavity, splitting it around wiring and plumbing rather than compressing over them, and cutting neatly around electrical boxes rather than pushing the material behind them. It takes longer and it is the entire difference between rated performance and paperwork.

Why this matters
- Friction fitted to full contact on every side of the cavity
- Split around wiring and plumbing rather than compressed over them
- Cut neatly around boxes instead of stuffed behind them
- Verified before drywall closes the wall

How we work
Our Process
How a batt insulation project runs from first contact through final walkthrough.
Step 1: Assess the Assembly
We look at cavity depth, framing spacing, the space above or behind, and what the assembly needs to achieve thermally or acoustically.
Step 2: Written Scope
Estimate stating insulation type, R value or acoustic target, coverage area, and how it coordinates with the drywall schedule.
Step 3: Protect and Prepare
Area protected and any existing material removed. Insulation work generates airborne fibre, so containment matters.
Step 4: Install to Full Contact
Material installed to fill the cavity completely without compression or gaps, because both destroy performance.
Step 5: Inspect Before Close In
We inspect coverage before board goes up, because once the wall is closed nobody will ever see it again.
Scope
What's Included
Written into every estimate so there is no ambiguity about what you are paying for.
- Cavity measurement and material selection
- Air sealing at penetrations first
- Batt installation to full contact
- Detail cutting around obstructions
- Vapor retarder where the assembly requires it
- Coverage inspection before close in
