Orange Peel Texture
Orange peel is a light spray texture that produces a finely stippled surface resembling citrus skin. It is the most common residential wall texture in Southern California because it hides minor imperfections, cleans easily, and takes paint evenly.

About Orange Peel Texture
Orange peel is sprayed and then left alone. Thinned compound is atomized through a hopper gun and lands on the wall as small droplets that flatten slightly as they settle. No knife touches it. That simplicity is why it is consistent and why it is so widely used.
Matching it is all about the variables in that spray: how thin the compound is, what air pressure is behind it, which nozzle orifice is fitted, and how far the gun is held from the wall. Change any of them and the droplet size changes. This is why a patch sprayed with a hardware store aerosol can never quite matches, and why we sample onto a board first.

Why this matters
- Consistent, clean finish that suits most residential interiors
- Hides minor surface variation, allowing an efficient Level 4 base
- Easy to clean and repaint over its lifetime
- Matched by sampling rather than by guessing

How we work
Our Process
How a orange peel texture project runs from first contact through final walkthrough.
Step 1: Identify the Existing Texture
We examine the surrounding surface closely to identify the texture type, the grain size, and how heavily it was applied.
Step 2: Sample and Approve
We spray a sample board, adjust mud consistency, pressure, and timing until it matches, and show it to you before committing.
Step 3: Protect and Mask
Texture spray travels. Floors, trim, fixtures, and adjacent surfaces are fully masked before any material is sprayed.
Step 4: Apply and Work
Texture is applied to the approved sample specification and worked at the correct moment, which is what determines the final profile.
Step 5: Inspect and Clean
Once dry we check the match under the room lighting, correct anything that reads differently, and clean the space fully.
